The Spanish Civil War: A Very Short Introduction
For a book intended as a general introduction, it proved to be very biased towards the Republic, often ignoring or even admonishing the influence of Spanish anarchists, socialists, and communists. It presented a deservedly strong critique of Francoist forces, yet spoke very little about the structure and inner workings of the Republic, dismissing many of its own shortcomings and atrocities.
